In autumn 2001, the University of Zurich (UZH) and ETH Zurich initiated the project Life Science Zurich with the objective of creating a stronger network for researchers in the field of the life sciences. Today Life Science Zurich encompasses five functional units. The business network is one of them.
The Life Science Zurich Business Network promotes cooperation between the Life Sciences stakeholders in academia, industry and the public sector in the greater Zurich area as well as with other life Sciences Centers in Switzerland and across the world.

LSZ Impact is the brand for conferences organized by the Business Network. The first LSZ Impact was on Translational Medicine in Zurich, which took place on 22 January 2018. This one-day multi-track meeting provided scientists from academia and industry a platform to present their life sciences projects to potential collaboration partners as well as investors. The next LSZ Impact conference will take place on 3 February 2020.
